Angels in white, nurses cure patients’ bodies and minds. Senior nurses provide quick support to newly licensed nurses, who are still in the learning process. When the trainee angels are abruptly given an enema during training on the grounds that they should be able to relate to patients’ emotions, they become confused. “I initially followed suit,” they say. “Everyone does it,” they respond, perhaps following the more senior nurses.
